It's that time of year again- Fall Fashion! Vogue magazine got a head start by mailing me their 800+ plus issue back a month ago. This month's issue of Vogue continues with more fashion trends for this season. But,in addition to Vogue and other fashion critics, I like to make my own observations and begin my own fall fashion trend.

1.Shoes- as a huge fan of the pointy toe shoes, my eyes have been caught starring at mary janes and more round toe shoes. I always thought round toe shoes looked awful on me, but this season they revamped them to wear my feet don't look unusually small. Nine West ( www.ninewest.com)  has also introduced two toned shoes, where the round toe part is a different color from the rest of the shoes. You may think where will I ever wear shoes with 2 different color- you will be surprised! Pair them up with a cute black mini dress and voila! You have yourself a edgy outfit to go out and paint the town red.

2. Gray- My favorite fall color right now is gray- and any shade of gray. I just bought a charcoal gray suit- light gray jersey dress- paired with some black leggings- looks awesome!! I also bought a cotton camisole-baby doll tank with black and gray! This season it looks like gray is the new black.

3. Accessories- Lastly to make an outfit worthwhile- accessories. Last year it was the belt, this year, for me, its bracelets. Whether you have one chunky bracelet,a cuff, or many thin bangles- whatever it maybe I think bracelets make an outfit stand out. It's different from your usual necklace and earrings. Try it out with your next outfit, it will do wonders.

It's magic

8.4 million copies sold in 24hrs- craziness!!! Harry Potter number 7 has swept the world...and I have to admit once you get to know Harry and his crew you love them- my current fav is Ron. He makes me laugh, but I am a slow reader or shall I say follower...I just finished book 5.

Harry, Hermione and Ron have been with us for almost 10 years. Can you remember where you were in your life when we all were introduced to Harry...and think about where you are now and bidding farewell to the chap!

I will be seeing the movie this weekend-even though I know it won't do any justice to the story.

What I love:

-Dresses that look like a button down shirts...cute purchase from Express with a a clean fitted look with a cute patent belt high above my waist. Different colors are available, but black is my color.

-Wide legged slacks-Look cute in pants that give you the slouchy look, but dress it up with some stilettos and a fitted top...turn a pair of pants that look good on to make it look even better on you!

Patent deep red ballet flats- Gap.com is wear I spotted these cute footies! Looks good with anything!

Fashion for the Greater Good.

When buying clothes or accessories I never thought there was a way I  could help woman all over the world. But what a great feeling it can be if you bought something from an upcoming artist from across the world in Istanbul ?!?!

Nest is a nonprofit organization (major props to Daily Candy for informing me about this) that provides interest-free loans to women in developing countries to start their own business in the arts and crafts business. These women then can make what they are talented in and sell it on NEST which will then recirculate back into the Nest Community. This great organization sells clothing, houseware, and jewelery. It shows the unique style of women across the globe, lets say its one of a kind.

To learn more about Nest, go to www.buildanest.com . I think its a great mission to help women break into the craft world and show off their talent and skills. Their product resonates what their personality is - from cool colors to bright and vibrant reds.

So, indulge guilt-free when you go shopping knowing you can help a woman in India or Nepal to breakthrough into the fashion world.

Kudos to those women who pursue their dream and get on that unbeaten path - you inspire me!

Belt it!!

I have been noticing belts are getting thicker and thicker and raising higher and higher on the body. Belts around the waist is the way to go this fall. Even if you don't like thick, thin belts can work as well.

It accentuates a ladies hip and focus' on the slim waist. It brings more feminity to a woman's wardrobe especially the professional aspect of it.

Always have a nice white shirt, here I would go for a thin satin material, cap sleeves and button down. A thick brown belt and a nice pair of khaki colored slacks. You could even swap out the brown belt with red. Here are some cute ideas to give some oomph to your clothes. Remember accessories can really make an outfit standout.

For some cute shoes to go with this look, I highly recommend checking out Sarah's entry on Fall Bliss, she has some great shoes she featured in her entry.

That is the key of this collection, being yourself. Don't be into trends. Don't make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want  to express by the way you dress and the way to live. - Gianni Versace

It is definitely an exciting time for fashion, Fashion Week has been preseting some great Spring lines and ideas for 2007 - check out Ms. Sarah's feature on Sabyasachi. And as many of us want to think more about fall, I am still thinking - fresh and light. Maybe that's because I live in Texas, and fall for me starts sometime in October or maybe even in November. But I have been eyeing dresses. Dresses that can be worn now, even if you are in the southern states, you can incorprate some "fall-ness" to your wardrobe. My 2 cents of fashion sense ( that just literally came to me ) is look into rich colors for this fall - I am personally leaning towards Plum, but I think it depends on what rich color you want your fashion trend to be.
